Life is a series of decisions. For many who have suffered with addictions, compulsive behaviors and/or mental health concerns, the struggle to make functional decisions was too great which resulted in dysfunctional thinking, decisions and behaviors. The ability to make healthy choices somehow got “lost” in the mess of living.
Life is difficult and the path to on-going recovery is not easy and definitely cannot be achieved in 3 easy steps. But the freedom that can be experienced as a result of recovery is worth every moment of the journey.
Throughout the years, I’ve studied the outcome research on many treatment philosophies. My conclusion was that long term treatment, with a strong holistic emphasis which includes trauma resolution, the 12-Steps, a supportive community, life skills, spirituality, nutrition and having fun in recovery, is a significant key to recovery. I’ve also learned that an important aspect of keeping someone engaged in long term treatment is to help the individual stay connected and motivated to succeed by making it interesting, fun, intense at times but never boring. Experiencing a variety of modalities in treatment such as art therapy, equine assisted therapy, 12 steps, group therapy and couples therapy allows time to change one’s thinking and one’s behaviors, and many opportunities for restoring self-esteem. And, this is my passion, to help others discover the freedom and joy life has to offer.
I believe that addictive behaviors are dysfunctional coping mechanisms used as a way to medicate and escape from pain, shame and trauma. Over time, these dysfunctional behaviors can become a progressive and fatal disease known as “addiction”. Through this comprehensive and individualized holistic approach, individuals are able to identify and address core issues as well as the core features directly related to their addictive behaviors.
My addiction recovery program engages the union of mind, body and spirit. New lives are built through traditional, experiential and integrated therapies. I place a strong emphasis on trauma resolution, the 12 steps, life skills, social responsibility, and having fun, all to engage a lifelong recovery.
My goal is to offer others, suffering from chronic relapse behaviors, addiction disorders, compulsive behaviors, mental health issues, and underlying trauma, the opportunity to find hope and healing. My passion is to empower individuals so they are able to make healthy decisions in their lives.
Now is the time to make the decision of your life. Recovery and freedom await.
Sincerely,
